DESCRIPTION
This tarnished single-piece bronze dagger with a pair of entwined snakes forming the hilt and cross guard. The heads of the snakes form the pommel of the dagger.
When the dagger is placed into a wound containing poison, the tip of the blade splits, and the poison is magically siphoned into the blade, negating any remaining effect of the poison. The blade still inflicts one additional point of damage on the target. As this happens, the four garnets in the eyes of the snake light up, and the snakes grasp the wielder's hand, and the process interrupts any remaining attacks that round.
The next time the wielder cuts a creature, the blade instantly attempts to inject the poison into the next creature as part of the attack, inflicting the same poison as was previously withdrawn, with the same effects and the same save DC.
If the wielder fails to inflict damage with this dagger on another creature within one minute of drawing poison, or the wielder attempts to sheath the dagger without using the poison, the dagger instead inflicts 1 point of damage and the poison upon the wielder.
It functions as a +1 dagger when unpoisoned, but as a +3 dagger when it contains a poison.
